And here’s a snippet for you while you’re waiting.
Today marks the reveal of who the e-novella that takes place between books Through the Ever Night and the upcoming Into the Still Blue, and that character will be that of Brooke, a Tide that was basically Perry’s girlfriend, for lack of a better term, before Perry had met and fallen in love with Aria.
Here’s the description:
The only fight she can’t win is the one for Perry’s heart. Following the stunning climax in Through the Ever Night, the Tides have been forced to seek shelter from the Aether storms in a dismal, secluded cave. But Brooke’s memories of the cave go back much further, to when she and Perry used to come here together. That was before Perry fell in love with Aria and before Vale’s dealings with the Dwellers altered the course of the Tides forever.
Now, with her sister back from a haunting year in captivity and Aria lying unconscious in the sick bay, Brooke struggles to put the pieces of her life back together. Without Perry, who is she? And what is her role in this frightening new world? As these questions swirl about her, an old threat to the Tides resurfaces, and Brooke is forced to put the lives of her people before her own. But in taking this step outside of herself, Brooke may finally discover what she truly wants.
Veronica Rossi, author of the amazing Under the Never Sky series, will be taking on a new challenge in the form of a New Adult book. The term “New Adult” is focused on college-aged characters, whereas the YA is focused on high school-aged characters. So, essentially, we’re heading into more provocative territory, to say the least, being that NA is more romance than anything else.
Lorin Oberweger and Veronica Rossi writing as Noelle August’s BOOMERANG, pitched as THE HANGOVER meets THE INTERNSHIP, set in an online dating service that aims to be Match.com for millennials on the rebound, to Tessa Woodward at William Morrow, in a three book deal, in a pre-empt, for publication in 2014, by Adams Literary on behalf of Wildcard Storymakers (World English).
So, yeah, this is apparently where she’s headed next. That’s not to say that she isn’t going to be writing anymore YA books, because she does plan on it. The NA book is under a pseudonym after all.
Whether you like this or not, the NA genre seems to be picking up rather easily. Working at a bookstore, there are quite a few NA books that get purchased, so the potential for readers is already there, and I think they’re hungry for more.
Lorin Oberweger is an editor as well as an author and this looks to be her first novel to be published.

Veronica Rossi‘s publisher in Poland commissioned a song for Polish release of the Under the Never Sky sequel, Through the Ever Night, on August 28th.
The band is named A Shade of Gray and we have both the Polish and the English version of the video/song. It sounds pretty cool, actually. Listen to it and let us know what you think!
Many authors will be descending upon San Diego for Comic-Con on Sunday, and Veronica Rossi is going to be one of them! Here’s the date and exact location of the panel in which she will be at:
